- Greencart has topped 1 million users and 1 million verified receipts, rewarding shoppers for sustainable purchases on VeChainThor.
- Greencart records approved receipts on VeChainThor and pays B3TR rewards, linking everyday retail spending to blockchain use.
VeChain is expanding its retail use case through Greencart, an application built on the VeBetter platform. The app turns everyday shopping receipts into verified on-chain records and rewards users with crypto cashback. The model connects blockchain infrastructure to consumer spending, particularly for daily purchases.
Greencart started as a tool for grocery shopping and healthy food choices. It has since grown into a broader sustainability rewards platform for commerce. Users upload receipts for daily purchases, and the app verifies the details before awarding B3TR tokens and other available rewards for eligible actions.

In addition to serving as proof of payment, the model also records consumer buying behavior. That creates a verifiable stream of data tied to shopping habits, including purchases of organic and vegan products, as well as surplus food rescue.
As of March 2026, Greencart had passed 1 million users, as we previously reported, and more than 1 million verified receipt submissions. Greencart also distributed over $1.2 million in rewards. Users can access the service through VeWorld, VeChain’s wallet, or through the standalone Greencart app.
Last week, we covered VeChain’s integration with Decent as the network expanded into workplace safety and compliance tracking. The update showed how Decent uses VeChain-based infrastructure to record inspections, audits, corrective actions, and certifications in a tamper-proof system.
VeChain Connects Retail Receipts, On-Chain Records, and Token Rewards
A single grocery receipt has low value on its own, and traditional verification systems often cost too much for this kind of data. VeChainThor changes this by allowing each approved submission to be recorded on-chain at a predictable cost.
Greencart also connects verified purchases to the wider VeBetter economy. Users earn B3TR after a successful receipt check. They can hold the token, trade it, or convert it into VOT3, which is used in governance voting across the VeBetter ecosystem.
The governance layer adds another function to the cashback model. VOT3 holders vote in X Allocation rounds that decide how B3TR emissions are distributed across VeBetter applications. That means users who earn rewards through verified shopping activity can also help direct value across the platform.
This month, we reported on VeChain’s relayer feature for VeBetter, which lets users automate voting and reward claims. The update introduced a gas-free system that helps eligible users avoid missed voting rounds while relayer nodes execute claims and votes on their behalf.
Greencart has also added more direct retail features. Partner store purchases receive automatic cashback, and a B3TR reward is offered for certain product categories. In April 2025, the app also added digital receipt auto-download via email and introduced a debit card cashback in B3TR.
At the time of reporting, VET traded at $0.007002 after gaining 2.67% over the past 24 hours. VET market cap stood at $602.14 million, while 24-hour trading volume rose 22% to $19.7 million.
