- Radicle has undergone a major upgrade to change its inherent code infrastructure.
- The upgrade will position the RAD token in a positive light for impressive upswings.
The past week saw the digital currency ecosystem exhibit a lot of defined upswings as the hype in memecoins pushed bullish sentiment to a whole new high. While memecoins like PEPE and FLOKI got the biggest focus for the week, an under-the-radar altcoin Radicle (RAD) is also seeing a very promising growth following a major upgrade announcement.
Radicle is branded as an open-source protocol enabling developers to collaborate in a peer-to-peer and decentralized manner. With many blockchain protocols around today, Radicle occupies a position that can make collaborative work a reality. The entire blockchain ecosystem is still evolving, and the platform on offer by Radicle is essential to help harness the overall knowledge base from different innovators in the industry.
With Radicle serving as the GitHub and the GitLab of the decentralized world, it has seen its embrace grow by a mile over the years. The latest upgrade was first hinted back in mid-April and the protocol noted that the move was to help chart a new era for its entire ecosystem.
A new era for Radicle is beginning. 👾
Over the last year we've been working hard on a new iteration of the Radicle protocol for code collaboration called 'Heartwood'.

Radicle dubbed the upgrade Heartwood and it is designed to give a new iteration of the Radicle protocol for code collaboration.
“Heartwood addresses usability and performance concerns we faced during the previous iterations of the protocol, while doubling down on Radicle’s secure and resilient primitives,” Radicle announcement detailed back in April adding that the wholesome redesign of the protocol will offer ehanced compatibility with Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs).
The Heartwood protocol was designed for a significant amount of time and it was battle-tested with the community of developers that adopted its services. In the latest update shared, Radicle said Issues and PRs are now closed on its GitHub repo as the Heartwood development is now fully transitioned to Radicle.
Radicle and the Benefit to Investors
Radicle is seeing a very impressive price upsurge, riding on the broader positive sentiment in the industry since the start of the year. Though the digital currency is changing hands at a price of $3.3886, down by 25% over the past 24 hours, it is notably pushing a more bullish outlook with its more than 120% upsurge it has printed since the start of the year.
Notably, the new upgrade is bound to make Radicle a more functional protocol. This in turn will make protocol more attractive to developers which can foster the intense accumulation of the RAD token. One thing is glaring, Radicle as an advancing protocol offer investors a very good opportunity as the upside for growth is high.
With Web3.0 innovations gradually replacing their Web2.0 counterparts, the chances that Radicle, through the Heartwood upgrade will replace the popularity of GitHub among Web3 developers in the near future. Should this happen, early backers of the protocol will be among the biggest beneficiaries in the near future.
