As part of this upgrade, Daedalus users will benefit from increased stability. Furthermore, it will introduce new features that are essential for the upcoming hard fork upgrade. “Daedalus 6.0.0 is a mandatory update for all users. It is essential for crossing into the new Conway era, which the upcoming Chang hard fork will usher in,” noted Charles Hoskinson’s IOHK in their announcement.
The upcoming Chang hard fork on Cardano will mark a transition that will bring various upgrades and new functionalities to the network. As reported by Crypto News Flash, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson also launched a $1 million bug bounty program. Hence, the update to Daedalus 6.0.0 is a measure to ensure that all users can fully engage with these changes once the hard fork is live.
In a post on X, IOHK explained, “This version upgrades to node 9.1.0, Cardano wallet v2024-07-27, the dependent Ledger and Trezor hardware wallet libraries.” This update “fixes the Daedalus auto-update feature to resolve the issue when running Daedalus on Linux with enabled AppArmor.”
Latest MetaMask Integration
In addition to the critical update for Daedalus, Cardano is also expanding its reach and accessibility through new integrations. Recently, Cardano’s ecosystem increased its connection with MetaMask, a popular crypto wallet and browser extension known for its support of various blockchain networks.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Cardano Foundation noted, “Thanks to the new Snap developed by Nufi Wallet, you can seamlessly access everything Cardano from right within MetaMask.” For further context, this new feature by Nufi Wallet provides users with the ability to explore decentralized applications (DApps), stake, trade, swap, and connect with the Cardano ecosystem from within MetaMask.
This move will enhance Cardano’s accessibility and streamline user interactions across platforms. The Foundation highlighted that “Cardano adoption made easy” is a primary goal of this integration.
Cardano’s native cryptocurrency, ADA, has recently seen an upside of 11% over the past week. As of press time, ADA is trading 2.60% up at $0.3851 with a market cap of $13.6 billion. With bullish on-chain metrics, Charles Hoskinson has revealed some of the Cardano’s “Hidden Superpowers,” reported CNF.
