Hoskinson: Cardano rebranding to take place alongside Shelley launch

  • IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson has met with McCann Dublin to discuss details of the re-launch strategy for the brand Cardano.
  • Hoskinson hopes that alongside with the launch of Shelley, the brand and the Cardano website can be relaunched. 

In a new update, IOHK CEO Charles Hoskinson spoke about his recent meeting with creative agency McCann Dublin. Via his Twitter account, Hoskinson reported on the meeting where the re-launch of the brand Cardano was discussed:

Just had a marketing and branding presentation from McCann today. They did a wonderful job that really impressed me. Excited to bring the ideas to market soon.

The partnership between the Cardano Foundation and McCann Dublin was confirmed in mid-December 2019. McCann was assigned to evaluate the brand Cardano and, based on this, to develop a new concept and marketing strategy for the relaunch of the brand. The aim is to promote the launch of Cardano and to make the protocol more present in the face of growing demand for blockchain solutions. In the past, the advertising agency has already worked with industry giants such as Microsoft.

Building the new brand Cardano

In his update, Hoskinson spoke of the cooperation with McCann and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and the joint strategy of the Cardano Foundation, Emurgo and IOHK to achieve Cardano’s market leadership. The commercialization strategy will be led by PWC, as Hoskinson confirmed. Furthermore, he attended a three-day workshop at PWC’s London offices to discuss key issues for Cardano’s future: the distribution, the implementation and the marketing strategy for cross-company communication, as Hoskinson said:

 It was three extremely intense days, days of 12 to 15 hours. Huge amounts of information were collected, hundreds of action items, we had to create a whole committee and team in our organization just to respond to our collection of things we want to do. Some of that workshop was about mission and vision and better ways to describe Cardano.

On the cooperation with McCann and the marketing strategy, Hoskinson stated that the relationship with McCann has progressed positively. The creative firm, according to Hoskinson, made its presentation on the rebranding for Cardano and proposed some campaign ideas that pleased Hoskinson and his team. The IOHK CEO revealed that he hopes to launch the rebranding at the same time as the Shelley mainnet:

(…) at the same time we launch Shelley we could launch the Cardano rebranding. The most significant asset of that relaunch will be the Cardano.org website (…) What is happening is that there is a large team of people working (…) to completely rebuild that website as an entry point for the Cardano ecosystem.

The IOHK CEO congratulated McCann on their progress and promised that the relationship will produce results in the future. Thanks to the fruits of this collaboration, as Hoskinson said, Cardano will be able to effectively communicate what makes it special and why Cardano is a unique platform.
