- IOTA will be a topic of the Industrie 4.0 conference of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
- According to Alexander Belyaev, new use cases of integration of digital twins and IOTA will be presented.
Alexander Belyaev, an employee of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, has invited via LinkedIn to the conference of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy on Industry 4.0. Even though the official website for the conference does not mention IOTA by name, it could be about IOTA’s Industry 4.0 marketplace, among other things. At least, Belyaev wrote 3 days ago that the IOTA community should follow the event to watch “our presentation for new use cases of integrating digital twins and IOTA.”

The development of the IOTA Industry Marketplace is taking place in direct collaboration between the IOTA Foundation with Otto von Guericke University (OVGU) Magdeburg, Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg and eCl@ss. Neoception, a subsidiary of Pepperl & Fuchs specializing in IoT, and WeWash have already implemented the first scenarios.
The OVGU project team includes Belyaev, among others. However, he does not appear as a speaker on the official website either. In this respect, it is not really clear in which way IOTA will play at the conference of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
In any case, the topic of the conference is exactly the issue that the IOTA Industry Marketplace wants to solve. The conference website says of the agenda:
It has shown how essential the digital transformation and cyber security are for the resilience of the industry. Trust and “Trustworthiness-profile”, as developed by the Plattform Industrie 4.0, are key components for securing national and international Industrie 4.0 value creating networks.
On a European level the data infrastructure project GAIA-X is gaining momentum and international support. The conference will bring global discussion forward on Trustworthiness, Interoperability and Digital Sovereignty.
IOTA’s Industry Marketplace builds on the specifications and guidelines of the Industry 4.0 platform and enables straightforward integration of enterprise information systems into the overall network.
Notably, IOTA’s partners Siemens and Toshiba, among others, will be also represented. Dr. Wolfgang Klasen (Siemens / Plattform Industrie 4.0) will speak on “Achieving Trustworthiness in Secure Supply Chains for Industry 4.0,” while Ayaji Furukawa (Toshiba Corporation) will talk on “The Role of Trustworthiness in a Secure Supply Chain for Connected Industry.”
Those interested in finding out what use cases for IOTA will be presented at the conference can register for the event. Attendance is free of charge.
