Chainlink Proof of Reserve Enhances eETH Transparency on Ether.fi Platform

    • In a bid to increase transparency within the decentralized finance ecosystem, Ether.fi has integrated Chainlink’s Proof of Reserve mechanism into its platform.
    • By employing Chainlink’s PoR, Ether.fi ensures that each unit of eETH is collateralized at a 1:1 ratio with staked ETH, eliminating reliance on centralized custodians.

Chainlink has announced that its Proof of Reserve (PoR) has been integrated into the Ethereum mainnet by Ether.fi, a top liquid restaking protocol with over $4 billion total value locked (TVL). By offering on-chain and real-time verification of the 2.4 million restaked ETH (eETH), this integration seeks to increase the transparency level in decentralized finance.

As opposed to traditional staking, where funds are locked up, eETH keeps users liquid while it earns them staking and restaking rewards. This enables eETH users to tap into Ethereum’s wider DeFi economy, engaging in activities like lending, trading, and collateralization, without sacrificing staking returns.

The report reads, ”This strategic integration ensures users can independently verify that eETH, ether.fi’s liquid restaking token is fully backed 1:1 by staked ETH in real time.” Automated security protocols are the first of many real-time advantages the integration brings. Circuit breakers, risk factors, and other security protocols with a direct impact on eETH collateralization can now be implemented by DeFi protocols via access to real-time, verifiable reserve information. Second, Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network takes the place of centralized audits, so there is no single point of control for the reserve reporting process.

StakeFi Research DeFi analyst Marcus Vayne pointed out the necessity of transparency, stating, “With $4+ billion in locked value, ether.fi can’t afford to hide, Users demand assurance, and Chainlink’s decentralized oracle framework delivers that assurance without compromise.”

    Chainlink’s Major Milestones in Q1 2025

Chainlink has revealed that it has had a firm start to 2025, after publishing its review for the first quarter of the year. One of its major developments includes the launch of Smart Value Recapture (SVR), which is a system designed to facilitate DeFi protocols to reclaim a portion of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) produced in liquidations. SVR recaptures approximately 40% of safe liquidation MEV, preventing DeFi platforms from losing valuable value in their ecosystems.

As CNF recently reported, Chainlink’s Payment Abstraction feature went live on mainnet, making it possible for Chainlink services to be paid in various tokens, which are subsequently converted to LINK. This setup combines CCIP, Price Feeds, and Chainlink Automation to optimize payments across multiple networks.

Furthermore, the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) experienced rapid expansion, integrating with 25 new blockchain networks, including Polygon, Arbitrum, Scroll, Aptos, Avalanche, Base, and BNB Chain, among others, to improve cross-chain connectivity and empower developers to create more resilient multi-chain applications.

Lastly, Chainlink expanded its network by adding more than 77 new Data Streams, giving developers and DeFi protocols access to tamper-proof, real-time data. Among the newly added data streams are Unichain, HashKey, Soneium, Shibarium, Solana, and Scroll. These data streams offer crucial market, pricing, and on-chain information that drives the expansion of DeFi, gaming, and real-world asset tokenization use cases.
