In an announcement by EA sports, a leading video maker, and Nike, one of the world’s largest athletic apparel companies, have struck a major partnership.
According to blog post, the partnership will allow members of .SWOOSH to gain access to Nike-branded digital collectibles which will be infused into EA games. .SWOOSH is a Web3 platform run by Nike. The platform, which was built on Polygon, the Ethereum scaling network offers NFT collectibles as digital sneakers and membership cards to users.
According to the announcement, the collaboration will allow for the two biggest names in sports and entertainment, to serve and allow for members of .SWOOSH to gain access to Nike’s digital experience and express their personal style through play.
With the partnership comes an introduction to a new experience that will unlock different levels of customization for users within the EA SPORTS ecosystem. Both platforms intend to nurture the partnership and further expand on the collaboration.
Nike revealed that EA SPORTS titles, EA SPORTS and Nike will come together in the future and create a select .SWOOSH virtual creations. These will allow members and players “unique new opportunities for self-expression and creativity through sport and style.”
