As previously highlighted by CNF, despite Changpeng Zhao facing a U.S. ban, he maintains shareholder influence. Zhao had been sentenced due to a plea deal related to insufficient anti-money laundering measures at Binance, the exchange he founded.
In response to a request for comment about Zhao’s release, a Binance spokesperson stated:
